The work of area artist Peg Sindelar is featured in a one-person show at First Presbyterian Church in Wheaton. Inspired by her extensive travels in the U.S. and abroad, Peg works in watermedia, collage, and printing to create realistic landscapes, seascapes, animals, and people. She believes that the artist has the freedom to put on paper things that are truly imaginative. Peg explains, "My interest and enjoyment is in trying to give the viewer a scene or subject that is presented a little differently: another way of seeing things, not as the camera sees them.”

Peg has studied under many of the most outstanding watercolorists in this country for over 20 years. These nationally acclaimed painters include Irving Shapiro, Win Jones, Ed Whitney, Zoltan Szabo, Nita Engle, Fred Wong, Thurmon Hewitt, Frank Webb, Vivian Chevillon, Miles Brat, Virginia Cobb, and Carol Barnes.  Each contributed to the development of her style and technique.
