"Engaging Autism--Honoring God"

Presented by Wheaton College at Billy Graham Center

The Ann Haskins Special Education Endorsement Program at Wheaton College presents "Engaging Autism--Honoring God," a lecture by Grant Macaskill on March 26 at 6:30 p.m.

The modern rise of autism calls for a biblical response. Join us for an evening of engaging autism with an eye toward honoring God with the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts. Come TO THINK about autism with a lecture by University of Aberdeen scholar, Dr. Grant Macaskill, TO HEAR musical performances by individuals with autism, and TO SEE artistic creations by individuals with autism. A reception and gallery viewing will be followed by a musical performance and Dr. Macaskill's presentation. This evening will formally launch Wheaton College’s new Faith and Disability Initiative.

Grant Macaskill (Ph.D, Dip.Th., B.Sc.) is the Kirby Laing Chair of New Testament Exegesis at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. He is also director of the recently established Centre for the Study of Autism and Christian Community. He completed his PhD in New Testament Studies at the University of St Andrews in 2005, where he subsequently taught as Senior Lecturer in New Testament, before moving to Aberdeen in 2015. He is originally from the Scottish Highlands and Islands.
