For over 35 years, Chris Farrell has been a mainstay of Chicago’s famed singer/songwriter scene. Honing his writing and performing skills while sharing the stage with folk legends Steve Goodman, John Prine, Bob Gibson and others, Chris emerged with his own distinct brand of songwriting and showmanship to carry on this proud tradition. Chris’s work is the genuine item and has grown with the times to hit a bull’s eye with relevance for today.
Chris easily flows from ballads to satire, from comic songs to social commentary, while always finding room for that sweet tune you’ll be humming all the way home. These finely crafted songs are presented with strong finger picking, beautiful melodies and great vocals. Chris mixes in humorous musings and stories for a well-paced show and an impressive command of the stage that only several decades of experience can produce.
He is a fixture of the Old Town School of Folk Music. Chris has toured all over the U.S. and abroad with memorable stops at Nashville’s Blue Bird Cafe, New York’s Folk City, and even Rick’s Cafe in Casablanca, Morocco.
