In honor of Women’s History Month, living history performer Ellie of Ellie Presents portrays inventor Mary Florence Potts, who perfected the cold-handled sad iron, “A Boon to Women!” Mrs. Potts, fresh from her appearance at the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago, will discuss domestic life in the 19th century, the science and technology behind her invention, and what it means for a woman to hold a U.S. Patent and manage her own affairs. This program in the museum’s Freedom Hall is ideal for families and children ages 10 and up.

Cantigny's regular daily parking fee is $5 per car. Parking is free on the first Wednesday of every month. On Saturdays and Sundays, May through September, parking is $10. The $10 rate also applies on Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day. Parking is free at all times for Cantigny Park members, Honor Club members, and those attending ticketed events or other fee-based programs.
