Opera Mainstage

Presented by Wheaton College Conservatory of Music at Pierce Memorial Chapel, Wheaton College

“L’Orfeo” is a work that is considered to be “the root of all opera”.  Based on the Greek tale, Monteverdi’s 1607 opera tells the story of the legendary musician Orpheus and his descent to the Underworld to recover his beloved Euridice.

Colorful orchestration, costumes, lighting, projections and dance will bring to life this deeply moving tale.

Performances will be held in Pierce Memorial Chapel, located on the southeast corner of Washington and Franklin streets in Wheaton. General audience tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door, or in advance by visiting the Ticket and Information Office, located at 418 North Chase Street in Wheaton. For tickets, call 630-752-5010. Ticket Office hours: M-F, 8:30-noon and 1-4:30.
