Elmhurst Center for Performing Arts (ECPA)is hosting its third annual Spotlight Gala to celebrate the arts in the community.  The Gala benefits ECPA, a not-for-profit 501(c)3 dedicated to the creation of a state-of-the-art venue for theater, dance and comedy in the Elmhurst City Centre.

“We are thrilled to host our third annual Gala evening”, said ECPA Board Chair Jeff Budgell. “This event is an integral part of our overall plan to communicate and connect with our enthusiastic supporters.”

Over the past year, the ECPA initiative has advanced discussions and planning for a financially viable solution to establish a center for arts in the heart of Elmhurst.

“This community – Elmhurst and the surrounding area - is hugely passionate about the arts as evidenced by the investment in programs for our youth, the myriad of performing arts groups that appeal to all age groups, and the extent to which we enjoy attending performances,” Budgell explained. “The ECPA initiative is bringing together people who share that passion and support a community-based center.”

The Gala will be held at the Elmhurst Art Museum beginning at 7:00 p.m. and will feature performances by local performing artists including Evolution Dance, Extensions Lyrical Dance and the York High School band performers. The cocktail-style program includes an open bar and food varieties from Beyond Events Catering, Elmhurst, Brewery, Kilwins, Courageous Bakery and My/Mo Mochi. The evening will conclude with dancing to live music performed by the talented Brian Patti Orchestra.
