Poverty, Inc. Film Screening

Poverty, Inc. Film Screening

Presented by Wheaton College at Beamer Center

The Wheaton Center for Faith, Politics & Economics is proud to partner with Opus: The Art of Work and the Political Science & International Relations department to bring you Poverty, Inc., a film screening and conversation on October 30, 2018, at 7 p.m. in the Phelps Room.

We will be presenting the award winning documentary film, Poverty, Inc., a challenging look at the uncomfortable side of a multi-billion dollar industry—charity. Poverty, Inc. asks an important question: is the charity industry as we know it actually alleviating poverty in the long term? The screening will be followed by a conversation with Michael Matheson Miller, Producer and Director of Poverty, Inc. Michael lectures internationally on such themes as political and social philosophy, economic development, ethics and entrepreneurship. He is a frequent guest on radio, and has been published in the Washington Times, The Detroit News, The LA Daily News, The New York Post, Catholic World Report, and Real Clear Politics.

Please join us in the Phelps room in the Beamer Center (421 N. Chase St., Wheaton, Illinois 60187) on October 30 at 7 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Heidi Leffler at fpe@wheaton.edu.
