Basics Of Esl Teaching 101

Basics of ESL Teaching 101 is a one-day TESOL workshop sponsored by the Institute for Cross-Cultural Training (ICCT) that will take place on Saturday, October 20 from 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Two formats are available: Face-to-Face or online virtual participation (Skype in real time).

This workshop focuses on laying a strong foundation for an effective ESL teaching / tutoring ministry. Topics for this workshop include 1) Needs Analysis—creating and using needs analysis tools  2) Foundational Concepts—understanding the basics of language learning and teaching  3) Basics of Error Correction 4) Overview of Language Teaching Methods and Best Practices and 5) Effective Lesson Planning

Dianne Frye Dow, ICCT Associate Director will be the workshop presenter. With over 25 years of ESL teaching experience, she brings a unique blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience to come alongside novice teachers in order to provide guidance, practical teaching tips, and resources for effective ESL ministry.

The workshop will be held in Room 134 of the Billy Graham Center (BGC) located at 500 College Avenue. The cost is $95 if registration and deposit are postmarked by October 10; $115 after October 10. This cost includes 8 hours of instruction, the materials folder, and lunch.
