Terrance Johnson Solo Show

Terrance Johnson Solo Show

at Elmhurst Art Museum

The Elmhurst Artists' Guild is hosting "An Artist's Changing View," featuring original paintings and mixed media art by Terrance Johnson. This is a solo exhibit. Johnson is a largely self-taught artist who refuses to be categorized as having one type of artistic style. Instead, he embraces the evolving nature of his work, which has moved through disparate phases over time as the artist and the world around him have changed.

"I jokingly told my friend that I thought of myself as a Distortionist," Johnson stated, "My works always begin with figurative images, classical or contemporary, and lead to some kind of distortion, often dictated by the act of painting itself..." His artistic influences include his background in the theatre, the digital age, and even his interest in Buddhism.

EAG Gallery hours at the Elmhurst Art Museum: Tuesday through Sunday from 11am to 5 pm.  More information is available at elmhurstartistsguild.org and elmhurstartmuseum.org.

The EAG gallery is not-for-profit, operated by the Elmhurst Artists' Guild. It features contemporary artworks in a variety of styles and media. In addition to four member shows each year, the guild hosts exhibitions of individual members' artwork and invitational shows for significant local artists.
