The twelfth season of Artist Series presentations at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lombard, opens Sunday, September 9, at 3:00 p.m., when The Bournés (pronounced boor-NAYZ), a musical family of eight siblings and their mother, will appear in concert.

This family of singers/songwriters, musicians, and arrangers has been performing together for many years all over Chicagoland and the Midwest. Performance venues have included the Katten-Landau Studio at Roosevelt University, the Beverly Arts Center, along with appearances on Good Day Chicago, Windy City Live, conferences, rallies, and numerous other community celebrations and fundraisers. Last year they appeared with Giordano Dance Chicago at the Auditorium Theatre.

The Bournés are natives of Chicago, currently residing in a near south suburb. Multi-talented as musical artists, dancers, visual artists, writers, producers, designers, speakers and educators as well, they hope to reach all who hear them with their message of love and the importance of family.

An informal reception with light refreshments will follow the concert. Also at the reception, the distinctive polymer clay artistry of Marji Purcell, who makes beautiful floral and other design pieces, will be on display and available for purchase.

The public is cordially invited to attend the concert and the reception. No tickets will be sold for the program; a free-will offering will be received.
