…for school children in Oak Brook.
Reservations are now being accepted for the West Suburban Symphony’s annual educational concert for schoolchildren. The concert experience is designed for student groups from grades 3-6, but is open to kindergarten through 8th grade students from public, private, and home schools.
The 45-minute concert offers an introduction to listening skills, concert-hall decorum, and the instruments of an orchestra and includes classical and contemporary musical selections, all led by Maestro Peter Lipari. This year’s selections include two movements from Alexander Borodin’s 1876 Symphony No. 2; Charles Gounod's 1879 Funeral March of a Marionette, best known as the theme song of the Alfred Hitchcock television show; and Russell Brower's theme music from the World of Warcraft video game.
Two identical performance will be offered, at 9:30 am and 10:45 am, at Christ Church of Oak Brook.
Student admission is $5, and adult chaperones are admitted free. Advance registration and payment are required. Full information and registration materials are available at the website.
