8th Annual Lombard Civil War Reenactment

8th Annual Lombard Civil War Reenactment

Presented by Lombard Historical Society at Four Seasons Park

This family friendly event will feature Stanford’s Battery reenactors, portraying both Confederate and Union soldiers, in a Living History Encampment depicting an 1863 era military campsite. Military drills and demonstrations, cannon fire, Civil War era music and other interactive camp activities provide diversions for all ages. A skirmish between the North and South will take place on Saturday and Sunday at 11:30 am and 2:30 pm.

In addition to their period camp, Stanford’s Battery also brings four full-scale cannons that will be used in the skirmishes. Dedicated to preserving Civil War history by engaging in living history displays, they also participate in school presentations, regional events and parades since 2009. Also featured will be the 1st Brigade Band, composed of volunteers associated with the Wisconsin Historical Society, performing music from the 1860’s on antique instruments.

Really good vittles and tasty treats will be available for purchase from Miller’s Ale House and Sadie’s Roasted Corn. Sutlers, or as we like to say, vendors, will also be on site selling Civil War themed souvenirs as well as food on Saturday and Sunday from 11-3.

The Lombard Historical Society celebrates Lombard's heritage by collecting, preserving, and interpreting the history of Lombard and operates the Victorian Cottage Museum and Carriage House at 23 W.
