A twisted love triangle involves Miss Amelia, who runs the Sad Cafe, Lymon, a dwarf cousin who came to live with her, and Marvin Macy, a roughneck who fell in love with Amelia but vows vengeance after she threw him out of the bedroom on their wedding night. Torn between anger and desire, Marvin returns years later to find Amelia showering Lymon with her affection, but the cousin now falls for him. The day of reckoning arrives when the husband and wife settle their differences with their bare hands in front of the whole town in the Sad Cafe.
