Absolutely beautiful music!
The Hinsdale-based West Suburban Symphony and its chorus, under the baton of internationally acclaimed conductor Peter Lipari, performs Brahms’ German Requiem. Joining the orchestra as vocal soloists are soprano Ann McMann and baritone Jeffrey Ray.
“This music will move your soul with its affirmation of personal faith and victory over death,” says Symphony president Richard Lukes. “Instead of creating a Latin mass for the dead, Brahms wrote music to console and give hope to the mourners left behind, in a way that transcends all religions. This will be a magnificent concert.”
Lipari, who has led orchestras, bands, choruses, and musical stage productions in the United States and abroad to rave reviews for more than 20 years, has served as the Society’s music director since 2001.
