Senior Suburban Orchestra Family and Friends Concert

Presented by Senior Suburban Orchestra at Immanuel Lutheran Church

The Senior Suburban Orchestra, awarded Community Relations Orchestra for 2018 by the Illinois Council of Orchestras, is conducted by Dan Pasquale D'Andrea.   It was founded in 2000 and has grown to become a 50-piece performing organization which presents up to twenty concerts per year.   Most concerts are by invitation at retirement homes, schools and other civic venues, but the Family and Friends Concert is open to the public.   There is no admission charge for the concert but donations will be accepted.

The program will include Thousand and One Nights, Waltzes by Johann Strauss, Jr., Im Sturmschritt, Polka by Johann Strauss, Pizzicato-Polka by Johann Strauss, Jr. and Josef Strauss, West Side Story Selections for Orchestra by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim, Illinois, By Thy Rivers Gently Flowing by Archibald Johnston, plus A Ray Henderson Gallery, a medley of songs in which the audience is invited to sing along with the orchestra.
