The Downers Grove Choral Society, under the direction of Artistic Director John Patrick Rakes, continues its exciting 59th Season on Sunday, April 29, 2018. Women of Note will feature World premieres of Naperville composer Paul Scherer’s Femme Noire, Mother Nature and A Woman of Valor. This concert, with professional orchestra, will also include Amy Beach and Hildegard von Bingen. Soloists are Soprano Rosalind Lee, Mezzo-soprano Denise Gamez, Tenor Tom Heuber and Bass David Govertsen. There will be a pre-concert discussion at 3:15 p.m., followed by the 4:00 p.m. concert.
All 2017-2018 Season concerts will be presented at Downers Grove First United Methodist Church, 1032 Maple Avenue, Downers Grove, IL.
