The comic fantasy Monstrous Regiment is adapted by Chicago writer and actor Christopher Hainsworth from the Discworld series book by best-selling author Terry Pratchett. A most unlikely band of army recruits, including a troll, a vampire, and an Igor, are under the command of the equally unusual military leaders of the fictional country of Borogravia. War, with a capital W, has been going on for years with Zlobenia, and now this regiment of misfits is heading to the front. Disguises, wordplay, and caffeine addiction combine to make Monstrous Regiment a laugh-out-loud masterpiece. The original 2014 premiere at Chicago’s Lifeline Theatre was awarded four stars by the Tribune.
