Making Paste Paper with Rhonda Popko. A little history: paste papers are one of the earliest methods used to decorate paper. From the late 16th century through to the 18th century they were predominantly used as book covers and as end sheets. Think creating papers for collage, etc. Possibilities are endless. A marriage of paste & paint. A little about Rhonda Popko: artist and teacher, her artwork has evolved over the past 40 years as an exploration of different media and materials applied to a mix of surfaces, materials, and subjects. She studied printmaking, drawing and painting at the Art Institute of Chicago and Northeastern Illinois University, and has been awarded for her dedication to bringing arts and cultural enrichment to her community.
