Our sixty-eighth season continues with the American Spiritual Ensemble in celebration of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Led by founder and music director, Everett McCorvey. Join us for what promises to be a thrilling performance!
The American Spiritual Ensemble was founded by Everett McCorvey in 1995, and has performed around the world, including at the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, and aboard in Italy, Germany, Britain, Spain, and Japan.
With a core purpose of keeping the American Negro spiritual alive, the critically acclaimed American Spiritual Ensemble is a group of the finest singers in classical music today. They have thrilled audiences with dynamic renditions of classic spirituals, jazz, and Broadway favorites highlighting the black experience in America. Brian Newhouse of Minnesota Public Radio wrote, "What you do is so incredibly special. The world is a richer place because of you and your ensemble."
