Annual Holiday Concert In Hinsdale

Presented by West Suburban Symphony at Hinsdale Central Auditorium

The West Suburban Symphony Orchestra and Singers, led by internationally acclaimed conductor Peter Lipari, present a holiday concert at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, December 10, at Hinsdale Central High School, 55th and Grant Streets, Hinsdale.

The concert features choral music including Berlin's White Christmas, Adam's O Holy Night, Holst's Christmas Day, and selections from Handel's Messiah. Instrumental music includes Hess’s Christmas Overture medley of carols, Rebikov’s Christmas Tree Suite, and selections from the animated movies Frozen and Happy Feet.

“You’ll capture the wonder of the season at this concert for the whole family, with music ranging from purely traditional to popular modern interpretations of carols,” says Symphony president Richard Lukes.  “And we expect a jolly visitor from the North Pole to drop in at intermission with treats for the little ones.”

Lipari, who has led orchestras, bands, choruses, and musical stage productions in the United States and abroad to rave reviews for more than 30 years, has served as the Society’s music director since 2001.  He is a Plainfield resident.
