The Warrenville Historical Museum & Art Gallery invites artist to submit themselves for the upcoming 2019-2020 Albright-inspired artist-in-residency.  Over the past four years, artists who have been inspired by Adam Emory Albright or his twin sons Ivan and Malvin, who used the Museum’s building as an Art Gallery in the mid-20th century, have created original work inspired one of the three Albright artists.

In alignment with the upcoming Frida 2020 exhibition at College of DuPage and inspired by local deceased artist Mildred Baldwin, who captured the fashion and stories of Warrenville women in the local newspaper, artists who focus on the lives of women are encouraged to submit a brief statement of interest and CV by September 10, 2019.  The chosen artist will receive a $1,500 stipend in exchange for the creation of an original piece and at least three community / educational programs (which can include open studio time in the Albright Building).  The chosen artist will work with the museum’s curator/director to develop the residency schedule to best fit the artist and community programming.  Questions and submissions can be sent to Sara Phalen at info@warrenvillehistorical.org or 630-393-4215.  This program is sponsored in part by the City of Warrenville Hotel Motel Tax Fund.
