On July 15, the Chicago Golf Club of Wheaton (the oldest 18 hole course in the US) will host the United States Golf Association’s inaugural U.S.  Senior Women’s Open Championship.

The Wheaton Fine and Cultural Arts Commission is creating several events to highlight our city and our businesses. Among these events is the painting and display of eighteen 3' diameter golf balls by women artists.

Each ball will be sponsored by a business or an individual and displayed around town. A score cards with the name of the artist and the sponsor will be available for the public to walk the “18 hole course.”

We will publish short statements/info about each artist and honor them at public kick off events and at the site of each ball.

As of now, we do not have money to pay for your talent but we will cover the materials.

The balls will be available in the next couple of weeks. Dead line for the finished balls is May 1st. Arrangements for creating the work will be at your convenience, however, it is possible that we will have a location or two where you could gather to work.

If you are interested or know of someone or have any questions or have any suggestions, please contact Bill Austin.
