I am basically a self-taught artist with the help of many mentors since I have attended watercolor and acrylic painting and printmaking classes and a wide range of artist workshops. I continue to learn and experiment through online opportunities. My current work is the result of this evolution.

I combine acrylic paint, collage, found objects and other materials to create textured and layered paintings. I use a multitude of tools ranging from paintbrushes, stencils, sponges, corks, twigs and brayers, to homemade stamping tools.

I enjoy making one of a kind art cards. These cards are my “sketchbook,” something that allows me to experiment and mess up if necessary. My approach includes doubts and self-criticism, which is part and parcel of the creative process. Tomorrow may take me in a new direction and I will be ready for that. I think of my work as a visceral poem, informed by nature, art history, and my personal interests and life experiences.
