Hi! My name is Toby and I’m the Owner, Designer and Chief Biker Chick of Ride Like A Girl Designs. Welcome!
Why “Ride Like A Girl Designs” you might ask? Besides my family and my jewelry design, motorcycle riding is my other passion. In 2009 I fulfilled a 10-year dream and learned to ride a motorcycle. It was equally the most terrifying and exhilarating experience all at once. To this day, I still get butterflies each time I gear up to ride. I understand and accept the risk because the reward is so gratifying. As a young girl I was painfully shy and fearful of SO many things. My journey into adulthood was not without challenges, yet each one inched me further and further outside my comfort zone. And the pinnacle, learning to ride a motorcycle, revealed qualities that were within me all along. Strength. Resilience. Confidence. I’ve learned to become a risk-taker with a willingness to challenge myself physically and mentally at every turn or bend in the road. Riding has taught me to respect danger, but not to fear life.
Through a combination of 2 of my greatest loves, Ride Like A Girl Designs was born.
Ride Like A Girl Designs celebrates the uniquely opposing qualities that define you. You throw your leg over the saddle and your inner “biker chick” is revealed…strength, resilience, confidence and undeniable beauty.
You experience fear, but move forward anyway…for the love of the ride. These feelings connect you to your biker sisters all over the world. We are strangers. We are kindred spirits.
My jewelry designs narrate your story…your ride. The materials I use are transformed through a journey of their own… the color of metal changes as it’s heated with a torch…powdered granules of glass, fired in a kiln, melt and fuse into the shiny resilient beauty of enameling…all of it transformed again by you wearing it against your skin.
I am humbled to become a part of your journey by designing a piece that touches your heart and speaks to you…your beauty and strength. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating it.
