Visually Educate Rhythm, Space, & Alignment
To provide students of all ages with the skills they need to enjoy dance for a lifetime. Our goal is to offer the highest level of dance education and develop versa-tile performers. Over years of training, students will continue to expand their understanding of movement.
Our Story
The studio was started by Karen Ann Morgan Blonn as the Blonn Dance Academie located on Belmont Ave in 1984. In 2000, Patty Rielley became the Artistic Director and renamed the studio to The Dance Academie. A few years later and after moving locations, the studio became Bluestone Academy of Dance and Music. This year marks the grand opening under our new name and ownership.
Who We Are
Comprised of 5 major components: dance. fitness. acro. theater. community.
We are a boutique movement studio offering classes every age. Youth dance classes include Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Pointe, Hip Hop, Acro, and Musical Theater. We continue to train our dancers on spatial awareness, rhythm and most importantly alignment. Our teaching philosophy derives from an anatomical background and understanding how the body moves through space.
At our new location and studio expansion we offer more adult classes. One of our three studios is designated just for adult clientele. Classes include VERSABarre, Zumba, Yoga, Hip Hop, Tap, and Ballet.
All of our choreography and costumes are age appropriate and family friendly.
