Incorporated in 1968, the Downers Grove Historical Society is an independent, non-profit volunteer organization whose work is funded entirely by memberships and donations.
A board of nine members is elected by the membership to serve a two-year term. Board meetings are held once a month and a general membership meeting is held once a year. All of our meetings are open to the public.

Restoration and Maintenance of the Historic Main Street Cemetery
Recognition of Historical Structures and Neighborhoods throughout Downers Grove
Oversight of the Historic Home Program in partnership with the Downers Grove MuseumHistoric Homes Program
Sponsorship of Events and Programs promoting Historical Education for all citizens of Downers Grove
Representation on the Downers Grove Architectural Design and Review Board
