ZAZZ at Cantigny

As  the days grow longer and the evenings grow brighter, sunshine worshipers know that the  summer solstice is approaching. Cantigny Park celebrates the longest day of the year with a wine and jazz event featuring ZAZZ at the McCormick Mansion.

Solstice is from the Latin meaning the sun stands still.  At 7:00 when the party begins, the sun will appear to stand still  as it reaches its highest point in the sky. This illusion occurs because of the Earth’s is tilt.

The solstice marks the official first day of summer.  It has been celebrated as a symbolic day since ancient times.  Many cultures come together in music, dance, song and feasting.  The Cantigny celebration features ZAZZ, a jazz combo performing swinging summer songs, in the East gardens off the McCormick Mansion.
