VIRTUAL: The Detroit Institute of Arts - A World-Class Collection with an Uncertain Future

Art Historian Jeff Mishur, in coordination with Bloomingdale Library, presents a slide show via Zoom webinar and discusses the state of the Detroit Institute of Arts during the pandemic.

Eight years after the city of Detroit filed for bankruptcy in 2013, the city may be in jeopardy again due to the fallout from the 2020 pandemic, putting it's world-class museum in another precarious position. Learn about the situation in detail and view highlights of this great museum's collection in this slide lecture, which includes a discussion of masterpieces by various artists including Diego Rivera, Artemisia Gentileschi and Vincent van Gogh.
