Learn about the many motifs that help us understand the screen’s symbols and meanings

The newly restored Imperial Screen was produced as a gift in 1791 during the reign of Emperor Quianlong. Decorative Motifs observed on this magnificent screen are linked to rhyming words and homonyms, common in the Chines language.
