Unapologetic

Presented by Chicago Sinfonietta at North Central College - Wentz Concert Hall, Naperville IL

Mar 18 2023
Unapologetic

“She doesn’t have to choose between being gentle or being fierce. Both exist in nature, and both exist in her. That’s ok. She’ll know to nourish them both and when applicable, use each unapologetically.”

– S. Maraboli

Celebrate the unapologetic wonder of women during our March concert.  Opening the concert, Tania Leon’s work, Stride–awarded the 2021 Pulitzer Prize –was originally commissioned as part of a project to commemorate the historic 19th Amendment that gave American women the right to vote, and is inspired by the pioneering feminist Susan B. Anthony.  Next on the program is one of the historic Florence Price works that was discovered in an abandoned house in Illinois, Violin Concerto No. 2.
