Djibouti-based writer Rachel Pieh Jones will join Professor Drew Bratcher for a discussion about her new book, Stronger than Death: How Annalena Tonelli Defied Terror and Tuberculosis in the Horn of Africa. Tonelli has been called the Mother Teresa of the Horn of Africa. Book signing to follow.
Rachel Pieh Jones is a writer whose work has appeared in the New York Times, the Christian Science Monitor, Runner’s World, Christianity Today, and EthnoTraveler. She has been featured on podcasts including: Another Mother Runner, Modern Love, and Struggle Well. Rachel is the director of student life at a school she and her husband run in Djibouti, a country in the Horn of Africa that borders Eritrea, Ethiopia, and Somalia.
