Join Cantigny in person or via Zoom when Bruce Watson, author of “The Man Who Changed How Boys and Toys Were Made” will give an illustrated talk about a remarkable man, A.C. Gilbert, and his revolutionary toy, the Erector Set.
If you are a certain age, the Erector Set needs no introduction. From 1913 to the 1960s, the boy-centric construction toy was a Christmas morning staple. The man who invented it, A.C. Gilbert, became a household name by creating a world of contests, camaraderie, and boyish advice that nurtured millions of American kids. For a time, the A.C. Gilbert Company was among the largest toy manufacturers in the world.

Registration is not required for those attending in person at the Cantigny Park Visitors Center. The program is free with paid parking ($5 per car). Online participants should register to receive a Zoom link.

PARKING INFO
Cantigny's regular daily parking fee is $5 per car. Parking is free on the first Wednesday of every month. On Saturdays and Sundays, May through September, parking is $10. The $10 rate also applies on Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day. Parking is free at all times for Cantigny Park members, Honor Club members, and those attending ticketed events or other fee-based programs.
