CANCELED: Soweto Gospel Choir: “HOPE – It’s Been A Long Time Coming”

Due to visa delays impacting the first weekend of their U.S./Canadian Tour, the Soweto Concert Choir’s “Hope – It’s Been a Long Time Coming”  concert scheduled for Friday, Sept. 30, 7:30 p.m. at the McAninch Arts Center, located at 425 Fawell Blvd., has been cancelled. Schedule conflicts preclude a reschedule.

The three-time Grammy Award-winning Soweto Gospel Choir performs a special program celebrating American and South African artists who have championed the struggles for civil rights and social justice, including Aretha Franklin, Harry Belafonte and Mahlia Jackson. Through earthy rhythms, rich harmonies, brilliant costumes and infectious spirit, Soweto Gospel Choir uplifts the soul. “Absolutely thrilling singers… dazzling music” (Billboard).
