Service to the State: Addison Area Residents and Their Impact on Illinois

The Addison Historical Museum celebrates the Illinois Bicentennial in 2018 by presenting the original exhibition: Service to the State: Addison Area Residents and Their Impact on Illinois.  The special exhibition runs through November 30, 2018.

Addison area residents have served the state of Illinois as public servants from the days of the Civil War all the way to the present.  They have served in a variety of different roles ranging from Lieutenant Governor to State Senator and Representative.  These local leaders have come from different ethnic and social backgrounds and professions. Each, in his or her own way, has made a singular impact on the history of Illinois. Among the citizens featured are:  Francis  Arnold Hoffmann, Hubert “Bud” Loftus, William A. Redmond, Lee A.  Daniels, Peter J. Miller, James “Pate” Phillip and current local state legislators, Deb Conroy, Tom Cullerton, Kathleen Willis and Christine Winger.

The museum is open Wednesdays and Fridays from Noon-4pm.   The museum will be closed Wednesday, July 4th.   Starting June 7th, the museum will be open Thursday evenings from 6-8pm as part of the Village of Addison’s Rock “N Wheels event.(weather permitting)
