What role did the railroad play in putting Chicago suburbs on the map and expanding Chicago’s reach beyond the Midwest? Find out in this new original exhibit that explores the history of Chicago area railroads and the importance of national and regional railways in our past and present. The exhibit will consider the railroad’s role in fostering a commuter culture in the city and suburbs.
