Naperville’s newest performing arts organization is NaperVoice, a unique adult philanthropic choir with the mission “Sing well. Do good.” Its upcoming Fall 2023 Concert, Gather in Gratitude 2: From Bach to the Beatles and Beyond, will be Sunday, November 19, 4:00 pm at Grace United Methodist Church, 300 E. Gartner Rd., Naperville.
Genres including classical, world music, and pop will be represented in 90 minutes of new repertoire for 2023, including works by Bach, Rorem, Esenvalds, Lennon/McCartney, and Spencer. NaperVoice will also perform Prayer for Ukraine in Ukrainian, conducted by College Student Conducting Intern Nazarii Mykhailenko and accompanied by the Chicago Bandura Ensemble.
The 35-voice auditioned choir, composed of professional and volunteer singers from twenty Chicago-area communities, is conducted by Philip Spencer, Founding Conductor and Artistic Director, and accompanied by Collaborative Percussionist Shelley May Hutchison and Collaborative Pianist/Organist Dr. Zachary Zwahlen. Alex Amato is the High School Student Instrumental Intern this fall.
Proceeds will benefit this concert’s designated charity, Loaves and Fishes Community Services.
