Rich Hungarian flavors: Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody No. 1, Kodaly’s Háry János Suite, Weber’s Andante e Rondo ungarese with acclaimed bassoon soloist Eleni Katz, along with Liszt’s stirring tone poem Les préludes.
Acclaimed bassoonist Eleni Katz, winner of the 2022 Concert Artist Guild Competition, performs Carl Maria von Weber’s delightfully lyrical and spectacularly virtuosic woodwind gem, the "Andante und Rondo ungarese," as part of a Hungarian-themed concert.
Also: Zoltán Kodály’s playful "Háry János Suite," drawn from the composer’s comic folk opera of the same name, and Franz Liszt's stirring tone poem, "Les préludes."
