Lyric Opera Soloists Join Naperville Chorus in Concert Evoking Themes of War and Peace

The Napervile Chorus and Napervile Festival Orchestra in Concert

Come hear Lyric Opera soloists in Naperville, as Lyric singers Elyse Kakacek, Michelle Wrighte, John Concepcion, and Franco Pomponi perform with the Naperville Chorus in a concert of Joseph Haydn’s “Mass in Time of War” and John Rutter’s “Requiem.”

The Naperville Chorus is excited to present this concert evoking themes of "War and Peace" with its new Music Director, Reid Taylor and internationally acclaimed Lyric Opera soloists.  "Mass in Time of War" was a declaration of faith and hope for Haydn's native Vienna as Napoleon's army advanced on the city.  Pounding kettle drums in Haydn's mass echo booms of Napoleon's cannons, while the softer, lyrical themes of Rutter's "Requiem" speak of comfort and peace.  The Naperville Festival ... view more »
