If you are looking for a jazz band that performs “the perfect blend of jazz” then you have come to the right place. JAZZ CENTRAL based out of Chicago IL., is an instrumental jazz quartet that consists of Drums, Saxophone, Keyboards and Bass. The band performs a variety of jazz styles including Mainstream, Funk, Blues, Cool, Be-Bop, Latin and Smooth. The end result is a band that appeals to listeners of all musical tastes. JAZZ CENTRAL is the perfect choice for a festival, concert, happening club or even a private party where jazz influenced music is desired. The band will perform and present their music at the highest professional level and have all ages enjoying the different styles of jazz that the band delivers.

The leader/drummer Frankie Palermo is the “Dynamo” behind JAZZ CENTRAL. He has been performing professionally since age 15 and has performed in a wide variety of musical situations throughout his career. His musical education included studying at The Chicago Drum School on Wabash Ave. and also at The Bobby Christian School of Music under world famous percussionist Bobby Christian. Watching and listening to Frankie’s dynamic style of drumming is a treat for all, since he is the ultimate “Pro” and proves it at every performance.

Frankie Palermo is also available as a freelance drummer for other performers and offers Drum Set Instruction (see below) at all levels from beginner to professional along with educational drumming demonstrations for schools and other musical organizations. He has contributed to the educational world of drumming with two articles that were published in the Jazz Drummer’s Workshop section of the world renown magazine Modern Drummer. One article written on the technique of the Stick-Shot and the other on the style and analysis of the world famous jazz drummer Shelly Manne.
