Interculturality: an Anthropological and Biblical Theological Perspective

Dr. Paredes will explore the relationship between sharing and living the good news of the Gospel and interculturality. Interculturality refers to the attitudes, world views, and behaviors that guide interactions with people from other cultures and languages. It assumes a reciprocal and respectful relationship that values another’s cultural identity and a reflects a willingness to learn and enrich oneself in the light of different traditions.

Dr. Paredes is a cultural anthropologist and one of the leading evangelical and ecumenical leaders in Peru. He is a founder of the Evangelical Andean-Amazonian Missiological Center (CEMAA), designed to promote the holistic mission of the church in Peru and the Andean region. He currently directs and teaches in the master of arts program in missiology at the Orlando E. Costas graduate program of CEMAA in Lima and supervises doctoral students of the Latin American Doctoral Program in Theology (PRODOLA). Dr. Paredes has written widely on issues of human rights, human needs, contextualization and Christian responsibility.
