The Lombard Historical Society is pleased to announce a temporary exhibit, Hidden Art Gems and Collection Highlights from the 1850s to the 1960s, which features fine art, fashion jewelry, needlework, and personal mementos from the collection.
Curated in part by our Intern Caitlyn Dixon, the eclectic exhibit features an aerial photograph of Lombard in the 1920s, a 1913 oil painting by Frederick de Forrest Schook of a scene in Churchill Woods called “Babcock’s Grove,” and a black and white photograph by Stephen Spoden dated “1972 Chicago Academy of Fine Arts.” (Spoden was a graduate of the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts). Also on display, some for the first time, are watercolor paintings, pastels, prints, and photographs.
