Grove Players Play, "Goat Song Revel"

Grove Players’ is not really producing a play about goats, despite the title of its upcoming production- “Goat Song Revel,” by Dan Borengasser. This comedy was included in volume 4 of New Play Fest’s “Winning Plays for 2020,” and is philosophical as well as humorous. In its 88th year, Grove Players will be presenting this witty tale of the Biblical Job, God, the Devil, and Dionysus – god of wine, fruit, festivity and fertility, along with a couple of other things – over two weekends, with a cast featuring Mark Geiger of Lombard as Job, Gabrielle Medovoy of Downers Grove as Doris the Chorus, Michelle Marie Joynt of Joliet as the messenger, Rima Sabal of Downers Grove as God, Chuck Salvatore of Chicago as Satan, and Patrick Deering of North Aurora as the god Dionysus.

The play will have 8 p.m. performances on Fri., Oct. 27, Sat., Oct. 28, Fri., Nov. 3, and Sat., Nov. 4, with 2 p.m. matinee performances on Sun. Oct. 29 and Sun., Nov. 5. Doors open half an hour before showtime. General admission tickets are $20, but $17 for students and seniors. Performances take place at Lincoln Center, 935 Maple Ave., in the Breasted Auditorium on the 3rd floor, which is handicap accessible.
