An emotional musical journey awaits you as Tchaikovsky wrestles with adversity before accepting fate in his powerful and lyrical Symphony 5. The second movement's stunning horn solo is one of his most popular melodies, echoed by John Denver in the opening to Annie's Song. Rounding out this concert are Bedrich Smetana's lively overture to his Bartered Bride comic opera and a performance by the winner of our 73^rd annual solo competition for high school musicians.
