DuPage Symphony Orchestra, "Romantic Rhapsodies"

Melody runs rhapsodic with Mendelssohn's Scottish Symphony, inspired by the 26-year-old composer's visit to the Scottish Highlands and the Isle of Staffa, and Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, based not only on the music of the great virtuoso violinist Niccolo Paganini but also on his extravagant personality. The award-winning young pianist Dominic Cheli, applauded for his "splendid playing, . . . great skill and technical prowess", is the featured soloist in the Rachmaninoff.
