Downers Grove Choral Society Concert Light Out of Darkness

The Downers Grove Choral Society, with Artistic Director John Patrick Rakes, is looking forward to beginning its 63rd Season Sunday, November 14, 2021 with a live concert Light Out of  Darkness. The concert will feature J. S. Bach: Cantata 131 (Aus der Tiefen), Gabriel Fauré: Requiem, Opus 48, Morten Lauridsen: Sure on This Shining Night and Dan Forrest: fermata.

The Light Out of Darkness concert will be presented at Downers Grove First United Methodist Church, 1032 Maple Avenue, Downers Grove, IL. There will be a pre-concert discussion at 3:15 p.m., followed by the 4:00 p.m. concert.

Downers Grove Choral Society, anchored in Downers Grove, draws its members from around the Chicagoland area. Our membership extends well beyond Downers Grove, including such communities as Western Springs, Elgin, Woodridge, Lemont, Wheaton, St. Charles, Naperville, Bloomingdale, Lombard, Aurora, Villa Park, Darien and Willowbrook, to name just a few.
