June 20: Underwater People – Pop and Rock
UNDERWATER PEOPLE has been a hard-working popular band in the Chicago area for over twenty years. The band has performed at countless street festivals and most every live music club in Chicagoland. They’ve also headlined many of Chicago’s most famous music venues including, the House of Blues, the Park West, the Vic, and Navy Pier’s Skyline Stage.
The band’s music is a vocal based blend of many different styles with an emphasis on cool pop and rock. They’ve been best described as “a band of people pleasing chameleons” who can play songs from many musical genres. During the course of a performance you might hear songs by U2, Mumford & Sons, Jack Johnson, Katy Perry, Bob Marley, Paul Simon, Tom Petty, Elvis . . . .

On concert days, Prospect Avenue from Park Avenue to the BNSF railroad will be closed to vehicular traffic from 4 – 10:30 p.m. Parking is available in the Metra commuter parking lot at the corners of Prospect Avenue and Ann Street. Please note that no private alcohol, skates, or skateboards are allowed downtown during the event.
