Join the Warrenville Historical Society for the closing reception of our special “Albright Family of Artists” exhibition on Sunday, October 14, 2018, from 1-4pm. Adam Emory Albright and his twin sons, Ivan and Malvin (Ivan most famous from his Picture of Dorian Gray piece), used the Historical Society’s building as an art studio and gallery from 1924-1957. The exhibit explores the Albright artists’ lives and their time in Warrenville, including the many local models they used in their work. Original and digital reproduction Albright artwork are also on display as part of the exhibit, alongside pieces created through the Historical Society’s Albright-inspired Artist-in-Residency Program.
During the closing reception, visitors can also meet artists from the Historical Society’s Albright-inspired Artist-in-Residence. Past Artist-in-Residence include Chris Hodge and Maggie Capettini; Michael Carroll, also a part artist will not be in attendance, but visitors can see his work. The newly named 2018-2019 artist Nick Gurley will also be in attendance. Artist-in-Residence artists will have pieces of their work for purchase.
