Prepare to be amazed by the Chicago Immigrant Orchestra, an ensemble whose diverse and talented members hail from Chicago’s immigrant community to represent globe-spanning musical traditions.
Orchestra members play instruments native to their countries of origin, blending together to create a unique yet harmonious sound. Under the direction of virtuoso guitarist Fareed Haque and composer and multi-instrumentalist Wanees Zarour, the Chicago Immigrant Orchestra explores the relationships and differences among these different traditions, creating a tapestry of cultures to deliver a one-of-a-kind world music experience.
