This is an in depth look at Valarie Solanas, the controversial author who shot Andy Warhol

COD Film Chair Professor Brian Brems and Creative Writing Certificate Chair Trina Sotirakopulos present this exciting lecture and discussion focused on Valarie Solanas, the controversial author who shot Andy Warhol June 3, 1968. They will reference various representations of Solanas in popular culture, including in the novel "Valarie" by Sara Stridsberg, the 1996 film "I Shot Andy Warhol" featuring Lili Taylor as Solanas, and the song “I Believe” by Lou Reed.
