Black-and-White Nature Photography: In the Footsteps of Edward Weston

Study the portfolio of renowned nature photographer Edward Weston, a giant of early and mid-20th century photography, and learn to apply his approach under the guidance of your expert instructors.

Weston was known for his pictorial approach to black-and-white photography. As a founding member of the f/64 group on the west coast (which included famed photographer Ansel Adams), he blazed an artistic trail built on beautiful images of the natural world, including vegetables. His mastery of lighting and printing set the bar that many photographers have aspired to reach.

In this workshop we will discuss the Westonian approach to photography and learn from the images that he and his contemporaries used to influence photography to this day. The workshop will include black/white conversion instruction.
